Kadoma – 180 all out in 35 overs (Takudzwanashe Kaitano 79, Nyasha Mayavo 23, Bright Matsiwe 21; Alex Falao 3/53, Ryan Burl 2/27, Dylan Hondo 2/43)
Uprising won by 12 runs
Takudzwanashe Kaitano scored 79, Victor Chirwa took five wickets, but in spite of these excellent individual performances, Kadoma Sports Club were beaten by Uprising in a close finish by 12 runs in their National Premier League match at Old Hararians Sports Club on Thursday.
Uprising, put in to bat, were given a good start by Craig Ervine and Tariro Mukauyo, who both scored 42 and put on 72 for the first wicket before the more aggressive Makauyo was out.
Ryan Kamwemba kept up the good work with 39, while Aisha Chibanda made 25, and at 164 for four wickets in 23 overs Uprising seemed assured of a match-winning total.
Then Chirwa turned in his magical spell of bowling, five wickets for 34 in nine overs, that swept away the tail, and Uprising were bundled out for 192 in the 31st over.
Kadoma lost three wickets for 47, but Kaitano and Nyasha Mayavo (23) took the score to 98 before the fourth wicket fell.
But the later batter failed to provide Kaitano with the support he needed, and when he was ninth man out Kadoma’s hopes went with him and they were dismissed for 180.

Scorpions – 201-9 in 45 overs (Jayden Schadendorf 72, Blessed Muzite 37, Nezbert Maringire 24*; Prince Masvaure 3/25, Daich Nyandoro 2/37, Ryan Simbi 2/39)

Takashinga Patriots 2 won by six wickets (Duckworth-Lewis method)
At Masvingo Sports Club it was again a member of the losing side who turned in the most notable individual performance, as Jayden Schadendorf scored 72 for Scorpions, although Takashinga Patriots 2 won by six wickets on Duckworth-Lewis.
Scorpions, who chose to bat, looked well placed when Schadendorf and Blessed Muzite were together and took the score to 94 before the second wicket fell in the 19th over.
However, their middle order was less certain and they eventually totalled 201 for nine wickets, with Prince Masvaure being the most effective bowler with three for 25.
Takashinga made 14 without loss before rain stopped play in the second over of their reply, with Baxon Gopito on nine and Aliakbar Hamid on four.
When action eventually resumed, the innings had been reduced to a total of 27 overs and the target was now 151 runs.
Gopito went on to make 38, but the match-winning partnership was an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 75 between Alvin Chiradza and Masvaure, both with 35 not out, as Takashinga sealed victory on Duckworth-Lewis.
